About

The Media & Leadership Academy, held annually at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, is an intensive, residential one-week program focused on experiential learning.

Open to rising high school sophomores to seniors interested in the mass communication field, the Academy gives students an opportunity for hands-on learning and media leadership training. This year’s camp theme is “The Grady Show.”

Participants choose from one of the three offered tracks: journalism, advertising & public relations or entertainment. Participants  spend the first half of the week engaged in leadership activities and learning about their track. In the second half of the week, students develop more specific skill sets based on their interests by working on teams to complete a class project.

This website, and the stories written on the site, were produced by the students in the news website / journalism track.
